My name is Buddy. I was picked up as a stray in Mesquite, Texas and put in the animal shelter. I was given a death sentence after Hurricane Harvey and many dogs were brought up from south Texas. I was rescued from death by Adopt a Husky of Dallas, Inc.
My story is not a very happy one. I was hit in the head with a large object and dumped on the side of the road. When the city person picked me up, my eyes were full of blood and I could not see. I am so friendly that I was happy to go along with the nice person. They took me immediately to a dog doctor. I was treated for a contusion and recovered from the head wound. I was afraid in the shelter because it was loud and I could smell death. I was becoming so depressed, no one wanted to see me, and I knew the end was near. But, a nice lady came and took me away from the shelter one day. I was taken to a dog doctor again. I started feeling so good, and was happy once again. I am about to go through heart worm treatment and I will feel even better. I love the people who care for me and talk to them every chance I get. I live in a doggie day care where we get to play with lots of other dogs outside and never put in a kennel except to eat. But, I don’t mind kennels. I do so want a home of my own though. You see, I love to bond with a human or two and call them all my own. (or I can share with another dog if need be). I want so to have my very own home with my very own people to love. I am very affectionate, a little goofy, silly and attentive. I am calm, easy going, and house trained. I want to please and be needed. It is all I ever wanted, and got bonked in the head instead.
I have not given up hope on the human race because if I did, what hope would there be? None. I won’t give up hope. I’m 4 years old and have had a bit of a rough road, true. I’m not the prettiest face in the world either. But my eyes are so full of warmth you can feel my soul warming yours. I try. I truly try to be the best boy ever. And, I won’t lose hope. .
