Your Siberian Husky chews to relieve boredom or stress. It is a good idea to make sure they have plenty of chewtoys available to save your furniture! |
| A crate is a great way to train your dog. It is a place where they can feel safe also. Set your dog up for success and confine him if he must be left alone. With patience and time, he will earn the freedom to roam the house freely when he is home alone. |

Siberians can be accomplished escape artists. When you left the house, your dog was securely gated in the kitchen. |
| While you were gone, she found out that she could easily leap over the counter and get out into the house. And she will greet you proudly at the front door when you come home! |

A sturdy fence, preferably 5 foot tall or higher, is recommended to keep your little Houdini safe and sound in the backyard. Some huskies have been known to climb trees or chain link fences.... they can dig escape tunnels under the fences. It's not that they don't love their home and their family - it is in their nature to RUN. It is what they were bred to do. They can't help it. So you must make sure they are safe. And keep an id tag on them in case they do manage to get away from you. |
| A shady spot in the summer, and shelter from the elements in the winter is necessary if they spend much time outdoors. Also, huskies love to dig. They will re-landscape your yard if you let them! Shrubs, flowers, trees are all fair game to these creative and mischevious rascals. |

Remember, a husky is happiest when he is spending time with his family! Don't confine him to the backyard and forget about him. He shouldn't have to be on the outside looking in! |
| Huskies are typically quiet, clean and affectionate companions. If you are looking for a watchdog, look somewhere else. The husky has a friendly trusting nature and they greet everyone as a friend. They'll be happy to watch the house for you. They'll be happy to watch as the burglar cleans out all your valuables too. It is the nature of this beautiful beast. |

Huskies are a pack animal, and they typically do not like to be left alone. Most people find that their husky is happier with a brother or sister. But the 'only child' can also be happy with a creative and patient owner. |
| There are a lot of challenges to owning a husky. But if you are up to the challenge, if you have a need to go on brisk walks, if you own a powerful vacuum cleaner, if you are looking for a beautiful and loving companion, if you have patience and a sense of humor, then you might be looking for one of US!! |
